Who We Are

We are a Christ-centered community where we deepen our relationships with others as we grow in our relationship to God.  We welcome you to our community.   Our name, “Church of the Nazarene” speaks to who we are.  Nazareth was the hometown of Jesus and was not viewed positively by many people (John 1:46).  Those who grew up in Nazareth were not the powerful, elite or glamorous.  When early Christians were called “Nazarenes” (Acts 24:5) it was not a complement.  So when we call Jesus “the Nazarene,” we’re reminding ourselves that Jesus isn’t for a select group of people. He’s for everyone who seeks him – whether rich or poor; educated or uneducated; healthy or sick; powerful or powerless!  That’s why we try to be the Church of the Nazarene, because “the Nazarene” came for people like you – people like us – people who seek him.

What We Believe

We believe that all people are in need of God’s love and that no one is beyond God’s grace and forgiveness.  We have confidence in God’s power to change us from the inside out and live out of the overflow of God’s love.  We believe nobody is trapped being only what he or she is today.  God will give change-power to those who believe in Him—not just to forgive past sins, but into becoming more like Jesus Christ in thought, word and deed.   God will change us as we grow closer to Him in a community marked by His love, grace, peace, joy and forgiveness.
